Moving Tips
When you lift boxes, never lift with your back, use your knees. If you find that a box is too heavy to manage on your own, and you don’t have anyone to help, take out your items and pack them into smaller boxes.
When packing sculptures, make sure that you use a carton at least one-third larger than the object itself. Carefully wrap the sculpture in bubble wrap. Afterwards, place the item in the center of the prepared carton, there should be a few inches of cushioning at the bottom, and the sculpture should not be touching any of the sides. Fill in all of the additional spaces with packing material before you seal the box. Don't forget to mark "Fragile" on your carton.
Soft items such as bedding, cushions, and linens don't require as much packing material as your other items. Simply separate your items with clean paper; you can conserve on your supply of packing peanuts and bubble wrap. Don't hesitate to pack these items in a larger box given that they tend to be light anyway.
